CARE

We select fabrics for their character, movement and ability to evolve through wear. Garments change with time. Creases, fading, softening and small irregularities are part of this process. They are not necessarily imperfections, but traces of a garment being lived in.

As a general practice, avoid unnecessary washing. Air the garment between wears, allowing the fabric or leather to recover its natural structure. Treat local stains before washing the entire piece.

Always refer to the care label of each garment before washing or cleaning.

GARMENT DYED

Cotton / Cupro / Technical

Garment-dyed fabrics develop their colour through wear and washing. Slight variations, fading and changes in tone are part of the process.

Wash only when necessary, inside out, at a low temperature with a mild detergent. Avoid bleach and fabric softener. Air dry away from direct sunlight.

Do not wring or tumble dry unless indicated on the care label.

TEXTURED FABRICS

These irregularities are part of the character of the garment and should not be flattened.

Wash according to the care label. After washing, gently reshape and wrap the garment if indicated.

Use steam only to restore shape. Do not iron directly onto the fabric.

RAW DENIM

Raw denim is untreated and will develop through wear. It will fade, stretch, and change over time adapting to the wearer.

Wash as little as possible. Air between wears and treat small marks locally. When washing is necessary, turn inside out and wash separately in cold water.

Air dry away from direct sunlight. Some colour transfer and fading are natural.

VELVET

Velvet has a directional pile that can be altered by pressure, friction, moisture and heat.

Friction and pressure can change the appearance of its surface. Avoid rubbing and do not iron directly onto the pile.

Steam gently from a distance and follow the individual care label. Some velvet constructions require professional cleaning.

WOOL

Wool is naturally resistant to odour and does not require frequent washing. Wool likes to rest. Air after wearing and wash only when necessary.

Steam can help restore the natural shape of the fibre without unnecessary washing.

LINEN

Natural creasing and variations in texture are characteristic of linen. Any slubs or colour threads are inherent to the fabric and show the subtleties of its nature.

Linen is a strong natural fibre that becomes softer with use and washing.

Wash gently in cold or cool water and air dry naturally. Steam or iron at a suitable temperature if required.

TECHNICAL FABRICS

Technical fabrics are designed to perform, but their finishes need to be treated carefully.

Wash at a low temperature with a mild detergent. Avoid bleach, fabric softener and excessive heat.

Avoid unnecessary washing to preserve technical finishes.

For garments with water-repellent finishes, limit washing to what is necessary in order to preserve the treatment.

Do not iron directly.

KNITS

Knitwear is particularly sensitive to tension, friction and heat.

Air between wears. When washing is necessary, use cold water and a gentle detergent.

Do not wring or hang while wet. Reshape and dry flat.

Store folded.

LEATHER

This material has been selected for its natural properties. Natural markings are visible: pores, scars and variations in colour are not covered up. The piece will age and change with wear.

Leather develops character through use. Variations in colour, texture and surface are part of the material's natural character.

Keep leather in a dry, ventilated place and allow it to breathe. Avoid storing in plastic or airtight coverings.

STAINS

Treat stains as soon as possible. Remove excess material without rubbing. Blot gently with a clean cloth. Avoid applying water or cleaning products without first checking the fibre and care instructions. Do not use bleach or strong stain removers unless specifically recommended.

REPAIR

Small signs of wear should be addressed before they develop into larger damage. Loose threads, worn seams, small holes and damaged components can often be repaired.

Care is not about keeping a garment unchanged. It is about helping it last.
